ASSOCIATION STRATEGIC PLAN

1. PRAYER

The first priority of our strategic plan is to have a greater emphasis on prayer. This includes:

Praying for the situation along the border

Praying for the Lord's work throughout the Middle Rio Grande Region

Praying for our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord and the work they are doing to build His kingdom

Praying for our pastorless churches

Praying for spiritual awakening and revival in our association

2. FELLOWSHIP

Part of emphasizing the fellowship of our association means creating methods that will allow for more open and honest communication. Fellowship events include but are not limited to:

This website

The Ministers and Wives Christmas Fellowship Dinner and Retreats

Annual Association Praise Service in February

Quaterly Hispanic Fellowship Gatherings called "Companerismos"

Camping and Cppl-outs, Trail Rides and Tours

3. Missions and Evangelism

This priority includes participating in missions and evangelism in our part of the world, as well as in the global community. Some of the partnerships include:

Partnership Missions with other Associations and Del Rio-Uvalde Baptist Association

Border Missions with churches in Piedras Negras, Acuna and other towns in the State of Coahuila, Mexico

Churches helping churches do missions, evangelism, discipleship and ministry in the Del Rio-Uvalde Baptist Association

4. Revitalizing Churches

Church Revitalization is a process to help congregations become healthier so that they can grow in quality and, as a result, grow in size. In church revitalization, the following congregation characteristics are vital to begin the process of transformation:

Empowering leadership

Gift-based ministry

Passionate spirituality

Effective structures

Inspiring worship services

Holistic small groups

Need-oriented evangelism

Loving relatiionships

Each of these characteristics is equally important. Church Revitalization helps to identify a deficient characteristic in a congregation in order to help the church focus on strengthening it.
